Chad Brown, MPH, MBA

Chad Brown has made significant contributions assisting in the development of emerging nonprofit organizations dedicated to public health.  In his capacity as Project Director with the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI), he has been instrumental in the development of statewide public health institutes across the United States.  He is well known for his work with providing infrastructure consultation and technical assistance to new and emerging public health institutes.  Because of his work in this area, Chad played a lead role in developing the Guide for Developing Public Health Institutes (2005) of which he was also a contributing author.

Chad attended Xavier University in New Orleans and dual majored in Sociology and Business Administration.  After receiving his bachelors of arts, Chad continued his education by earning a Masters of Public Health from Emory University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans.

Prior to joining NNPHI, Chad provided leadership to several notable public health agencies.  He has worked with the Healthcare District of Palm Beach County as a Health Planner.  Chad has also worked with the Georgia Department of Human Resources in the Chronic Diseases branch where he played an integral role in developing reports that advised the State of Georgia on the burden of chronic disease. Prior to his work with the State of Georgia, he was selected as a public health summer fellow for the national collaborative program among the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Morehouse School of Medicine, and Emory University (Rollins School of Public Health).  During this fellowship, Chad conducted public health research on many relevant issues such as patient/doctor relationships and the effects of delayed care within minorities.

Chad is very active in his community.  He gives back to the community by contributing his time and talents to Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc., a nonprofit organization committed to public service.  He also volunteers with many faith-based and community based organizations charged with promoting higher education and personal health.
