Kantayeni Chapman
Kantayeni Chapman has accomplished noteworthy success in assisting organizations with fiscal accountability. She has worked for two of the nation’s top five accounting firms, KPMG and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, respectively. In her capacity with these firms, she has consulted on the accounts of some of the nation’s top corporations including SCI Inc., Shell Oil and Exxon Mobile. As a member of the CBIZ firm, she helped to guide several well-respected nonprofit clients, in the likes of the Heinz Center, through extensive audits to ensure that they meet the highest ethical accounting practices, compliance and accountability.
As a graduate of Howard University with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in accounting, Mrs. Chapman always possessed a strong passion for helping others. During her matriculation at Howard University, she saw an opportunity to further this passion by joining Howard’s Community Outreach Program. Through this program, she organized and spoke to young mothers encouraging them to stay in high school and pursue a higher education. Throughout her professional career she maintained her passion for outreach by actively volunteering with the Children’s Museum in the Nation’s Capitol.
In addition to her volunteerism, Mrs. Chapman has always been dedicated to promoting diversity. This eighth generation New Orleans native found herself even more driven to promote the ideals of diversity after witnessing the travesties that were unveiled in New Orleans after the Hurricane Katrina devastation. Because her roots are deeply grounded in New Orleans where her family is intertwined in every aspect of the city’s culture, she has a unique appreciation for how diversity and culture can positively affect an area. She comes from a long line of bakers, musicians, actors, artists, electricians, and healthcare providers. She knows that her own family’s diversity being of African and French descent formed the person that she is today. She is a champion of the benefits of diversity and the need for citizens to respect diverse cultures and beliefs.
Mrs. Chapman currently resides in Houston, Texas with her husband Christopher Chapman and their two daughters, McKenzie and Marley. She is a full time mom but she still has time to dedicate to assisting underserved communities. She volunteers with the Junior Achievement Program which targets inner city schools. In this role, she uses business models to stimulate the minds of fourth grade students in hopes of promoting future entrepreneurs and business leaders. |
