Access to Healthcare |

|
ICD is dedicated to ensuring that all citizens within the United States have access to affordable health care. ICD has developed an access to health care program that integrates family primary care services into public school based health centers. The public school system reaches a majority of US families with school aged children. Public schools are an integral part of our communities often providing more than an education but an opportunity to bring community members together. Therefore, implementing affordable healthcare services within new and existing school based health centers offers an innovative method of addressing the nation’s healthcare crisis. ICD will utilize school based health centers to implement two programs to increase citizen’s access to healthcare: FAITH (Family Access and Intervention To Healthcare) and CATCH-22 (Citizens’ Access To Community Healthcare). The FAITH program aims to provide basic healthcare services to families with public school children. The CATCH-22 program will offer basic healthcare services to those citizens age 22 and older who find themselves ineligible for Medicaid yet unable to afford health insurance. Uninsured and underinsured families will pay a nominal monthly fee per person to use clinic services as needed. Medical students and other health professionals will be encouraged to provide their services to the school based health centers in return for stipends and loan repayments. |
